Art Skills Workshop for Kids

Art Skills Workshops (for kids / grades K-12)
by Lola Marie Finkelstein

This 4 part workshop series will focus on skills students need
for entries into the [National PTA] "REFLECTIONS" Art Competition ...taking place this Fall, at local schools all throughout the State,  with focus on the 2015 theme:
"LET YOUR IMAGINATION FLY".

Each workshop will present a different technique, medium, and subject matter to help the students sharpen their skills, while discovering their personal artistic style, and developing an original design concept for their submissions into this contest, with a strong emphasis on the theme ...(as this accounts for 1/2 of the score during judging.)

WORKSHOP # 4 SEPTEMBER 13th / 8 to 10 AM
THEME: Creatures that Fly & Things with Wings / and How to Express Movement. MEDIUM: Acrylics.  TECHNIQUE: Creating Contrast & Texture Effects.

DETAILS:
- All workshops will be held from 8 to 10 AM to avoid the peak hours of summer heat.
- Each workshop will have over a dozen different image examples for the theme that week which will easily allow the students to easily find one or more images that will inspire them. So even if the theme sounds unappealing in print ...it will inspire creativity in the workshop environment.
- Students can register for 1 or more workshops, (they do not need to take all 4). But, note that  priority registration is given to students who sign up for all 4.
- Students do not have to register for the Reflections Program to attend the workshops.  But, again priority is given to students who do ...(as this is the main purpose for this workshop series).
FYI: It does not cost anything to enter into the Reflections Program.
- Other classes can be added in mixed media, 3-d or abstract art forms, sculpture, jewelry making, etc., ... if there is enough interest in these topics.
